Canvas Bar & Restaurant is as much about style as it is about food. The restaurant is dedicated to providing beautiful, uncomplicated dishes from the Maghreb region courtesy of our talented French Algerian Chef Pierre Khodja. Chic décor, and the aroma of exotic spices blend perfectly together to create an atmosphere that is sophisticated, but at the same time relaxed, welcoming and generous. In addition to the restaurant, Canvas features a long, olive tree lined deck, a cocktail bar and function space inside making it the perfect venue for a quiet luncheon, a casual get together with friends, or even a beautiful, elegant boutique wedding. We run two menus – our restaurant menu featuring traditional and innovative Moroccan / North African cuisine as well as a mouth watering casual small plate and pizza menu available in the bar and on the deck. We have an extensive wine list and full function menus available for get togethers of any size. |

There's an air of excitement at Canvas restaurant in Hawthorn. It's as though the place has been on cruise control but all of a sudden the turbocharge has kicked in. And all because chef Pierre Khodja has decided to focus on his native North African cuisine. "It's what I've always wanted to do," says Khodja, who was born in Algeria before moving to Marseilles, France, when he was 7. "It's my background and my passion. And now I'm confident our customers are ready for it."
